Fertilizing

Bonsai must be kept in good health. There are a variety of fertilisers on the market that will help your Bonsai achieve this. One method of feeding your Bonsai is to use delayed-release granular fertiliser.

For the most part, two sprays per year are sufficient for most plant types. They can get one treatment when they are repotted, followed by a follow-up application sprinkled over the surface four to five months later.

We recommend you to use a low-phosphate fertiliser or a slow-release fertiliser labelled for Australian Natives if you have Australian Native plants.

Organic liquid fertilisers are another option for fertilising. Once a month, use these at the suggested strength.

If you're using a watering can to administer liquid fertiliser, make sure your plants are properly watered before applying the liquid fertiliser.

Alternatively, put some liquid fertiliser in a large container of water and immerse the Bonsai up to the soil level; when the bubbles stop, the soil is soaked, and the tree may be removed.
